A while back I was trying to think of a way for people (including myself) to flesh out a character. after some thinking I decided it might be nice to make up a little questionnaire, sort of like a background cheat sheet. So here is a list of 25 questions that can be used to really get into the nitty-gritty of your character.
- What is your characters full name? Middle name and nicknames included.
- Who is in your characters immediate family?
- How was your characters relationship with each of them as a child?
- How about as an adult?
- Where was your character born?
- Where did they grow up?
- What schools did your character attend and what level of school have they completed?
- Was your character ever involved in any extracurricular activities? If not did they want to be?
- What did your character think their life would be like today as of 10 years ago? 5?
- What is the best vacation your character has ever been on?
- What is your characters best memory? How about their worst?
- Who has been most influential in your characters life?
- What is your characters hobby?
- How has your characters love life been, up to this point?
- Has your character ever been hospitalized (before game play)? If so, for what and how long?
- What is the single most reckless, stupid, thing your character has ever done?
- What is your characters number one goal in life?
- What is your characters biggest pet peeve?
- Does your character have a habit that may annoy others? If so, would they like to break it?
- Does your character have good self esteem? If not, why is that?
- Who was your characters best friend as a child?
- What movie does your character love? What movie do they hate?
- What is your characters worst fear?
- What would be your characters “happy place”?
- Sum up your characters life philosophy in Five sentences or less.
